XCodes IPTV Login: How to Enter Your Server URL, Username and Password

Field-by-field guide to the XCodes IPTV login with Xtream Codes details or an M3U link, plus fixes for the most common login errors.

By XCodes IPTV 4K Editorial TeamUpdated 4 min read

Most XCodes IPTV login problems come down to one small typing mistake: a missing port number, an extra space, or a capital letter in the wrong place. This guide explains exactly what each field means, where it goes in your player app, and how to fix the errors people hit most often.

What your login details look like

After ordering, you receive either an Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist link, or both. Here is what each looks like, using made-up example values:

Server URL: http://example-server.com:8080
Username: jsmith2847
Password: Kq7xP2mz
M3U link: http://example-server.com:8080/get.php?username=jsmith2847&password=Kq7xP2mz&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

Notice that the M3U link contains the same server, username and password — it simply packs them into one URL. If you only have the M3U link, you can usually read your Xtream Codes details straight out of it.

In your player app, look for a login option called Xtream Codes, Xtream API, Login with Xtream Codes API or Username and password. The exact name depends on the app.

Field 1: Server URL

Enter the full address, including:

  • the protocol — http:// or https://, exactly as given
  • the domain — for example example-server.com
  • the port, if one was given — the number after the colon, for example :8080

Do not add anything after the port. Some apps fail if you include a trailing slash or a path such as /get.php.

Field 2: Username

Type it exactly as supplied. Usernames are usually case-sensitive, so JSmith and jsmith are different accounts.

Field 3: Password

Same rule: exact characters, exact case. If your app shows the password as dots, use the "show password" option to check it before saving.

Field 4: Playlist or profile name

Many apps ask for a name. This is only a label for you — "Living room" or "XCodes" is fine. It has no effect on the login.

Choose the option called M3U URL, Playlist URL or Add playlist from URL, then paste the complete link. Typing a long M3U link on a TV remote is error-prone, so:

  • many apps let you enter the link from a phone or computer, or scan a QR code
  • some apps let you sign in on a website and push the playlist to your TV
  • a short link from your provider (if they offer one) is easier to type

If your app asks for an EPG URL separately, your provider can supply it. Without it, the TV guide will be empty — see how to fix a missing TV guide.

Fixing common login errors

What you seeMost likely causeWhat to try
"Invalid username or password"Typo, wrong case, extra spaceRe-enter both fields slowly; check for a space at the end
"Could not connect to server"Missing or wrong port, wrong protocolCheck http:// vs https:// and the :port part
Login works, but no channels appearFirst sync still running, or playlist too large for the appWait a few minutes; restart the app; try a lighter app
"Account expired" or "Account disabled"Plan has ended or login was suspendedContact your provider with your username
"Max connections reached"Another device is already playingStop playback on the other device, or wait a few minutes
Works on phone but not TVTypo on the TV, or the TV's app has a size limitCompare both entries character by character

Checking your login on another device

If you aren't sure whether the problem is your details or your device, try the same login on a phone using a different player app. If it works there, the details are correct and the problem is with the TV app or the network. If it fails everywhere, contact your provider.

When the provider changes the server URL

Providers occasionally move to a new server address. If a login that worked yesterday suddenly says it cannot connect, check your email or messages for an updated server URL before changing anything else.

Where to enter your login on each device

Frequently asked questions

Is the XCodes IPTV login the same as an Xtream Codes login?

Yes. "XCodes" is shorthand for Xtream Codes, the three-field login format (server URL, username and password) used by most IPTV player apps.

Can I use the same login on more than one device?

You can install it on several devices, but only as many can play at the same time as your plan's number of connections allows.

Why does my app ask for a DNS instead of a server URL?

Some apps label the server field as "DNS", "host" or "portal URL". It means the same thing — enter your server URL there.

I lost my login details. What should I do?

Contact your provider's support with the email address or order details you used when buying. Do not ask for login details in public groups.
